Alone, at the Bottom of the World (part 17)

The Threefold Cord

There are magical kinds of moments for each of us, aren't there? I hope you can look back and see many such moments in your life - the rather shining kind. I could list mine, and I'll bet they parallel yours in many ways.

The one that is shining for me at the moment is the evening the Trio of Americans met for the first time in New Zealand. I have shared that with you (December 18, 2013, part 3 of the 'Alone' series) and felt again as I wrote, the sweetness of a new beginning.

And the three American girls, coming nearly 7,000 miles in order to find each other on foreign soil? -a sweet surprise!

"... a chord of three strands is not easily broken."

Rather like the strength of a Triangle.

The triangle is the strongest shape, able to bear greater loads of weight without collapsing. May I say that this is the way it was for our Trio that year. Three of us, new friends, new singing partners, from different states and backgrounds.

I come from a family of singers who are able to blend their tones almost perfectly. Being a part of that was a rare privilege. And before ever practicing, our Trio developed a similar blending. It began that first night. Joyce. Donna. Joining with me on the chorus of For Those Tears I Died. It was the first of many singing opportunities that year.

It was that experience that gave me the confidence to continue music on into the future, sharing it in concert and through recordings. Mostly, what we were learning then was a fresh realization of Christ's own strength, within us. To thank Him for this, and let Him get on with it.

There was nothing like it, and never will be. And this is what the Trio sang about.

Jesus, I give You my heart and my soul.
I know that without God, I'd never be whole.
Savior, You've opened all the right doors
And I thank You and praise You,
From earth's humble shores.
Take me, I'm Yours.

And Jesus said, 'Come to the water...'

That same simple Truth, never ending. Come to the Water. Did I speak of magical moments, earlier in this post? I think Miraculous is a much better word.

See you along the Way!
