A Bite of the Apple

At our house, anytime Apple announces a release, everybody gets excited.

Today, Apple Inc outdid itself. Again. Have you heard? Did you watch Apple's new product announcements? We did! And I haven't had so much fun in front of a screen in ages. It was rather sweet watching the Apple presenters (who, it must be said, have nerdish qualities) wow the audience. Steve Jobs would have been proud of them, especially of Tim Cook. What a combination of nice man and talented innovator.

I wasn't really planning to watch, but nonchalantly wandered by while my husband sat glued. And then, I couldn't help but get interested. I paused. Then I sat. Then I became involved and started cheering along with the audience.

We saw so many intriguing products that I am practically befuddled. But I can't help but mention the new iPhone 6, (and 6+) - and AppleWatch - and the Digital Crown - and the new ApplePay! (your wallet - without the wallet) - and then there was U2!!! The group joined Tim Cook on stage and played one of their new songs, much to the delight of the audience. And THEN, Bono announced that they were releasing their new album, Songs of Innocence, in 5 seconds. TO EVERY Apple Store CUSTOMER IN THE WORLD!

Well. We were breathless. We grabbed up our phones to check whether or not we had received it. We opened our iTunes accounts and...THERE. IT. WAS! The new album, there in our iPhones already. It was the biggest album release in the history of music, and we were right there (well, on our couch) to see it happen.

It was all just so much fun. You can click on the released products here, and see what it is that everyone is talking about.

And what, you might ask, is the end result for the SconeLady? Well, it would be really fun to consider two upcoming purchases. Would you like to know what those purchases might be? Hmm?

    1. the Apple iPhone 6+, and
    2. the AppleWatch

It's a pretty good start. When I woke up this morning, I had never heard of an AppleWatch.  And now, there is this whole new gadget for people to play with, and pay with, and exercise with, and say I love you with. Who knew?

It really does support the old adage about nerds in high school. They were teased relentlessly, but just about everyone will eventually work for one. The shoe will be on the other foot, then.

    Who's your boss?

    See you along the way!
