Last Night. Tonight.

After

It's over.

After all the anticipation and monumental commercialism, after the hairdos, the massively white teeth, and the comparisons, Hollywood has gone home. All done. The Red Carpet is rolled up and stored away until next year (at which time they will probably purchase a brand new one). Some of the stars are probably recovering from a variety of hangovers and their finery has been relegated to some enormous walk-in closet. But I hope they had fun.

I'm sure the round of parties for the winners continues on. The phones must be ringing off their hooks. But a win might actually be tantamount to a burden, because now I hear they are under pressure to 'make the most' of the days immediately following. They must field the offers. Appear. Be gorgeous! Be humble! They mustn't make anyone mad before a deal can be brokered. Apologize to those whose names they forgot to mention on stage.

It's exhausting just thinking of all that effort!

But rather than linger too long on the winners and losers from last night, my husband and I took ourselves off to see a real Winner, a new movie we hope you will experience - quite a different experience. 'Son of God', produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. We came away once again in awe of the powerful story and the Message all of us need to hear. It was the anti-narcissistic film of the year and it deserves much more than a Red Carpet thumbs-up.

The opening words of this film? "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.."  Pretty unmistakable, that. And the rest of the film goes on to demonstrate just what this opening meant. At its close, you could have heard a pin drop in the theater. No one wanted it to end, and no one talked after.

After. What a difference there was between last night, and tonight.

I felt so much better after tonight.

See you along the Way!
