Glimpses

It may have been the best day yet. Every day so far has been smashing, but this one was filled with the essence of Cornwall and its people.

I will tell you more about it in pages to come, but for now you may hear that we were taken on a walking tour of St Ives today, by the splendid Tony. It was rainy, and windy, and our clothes were rendered wet through, but it didn't matter. It certainly didn't matter to Tony, who is a true Brit and truly does not mind weather. Brits simply absorb their weather, and go on. We went on.

The second lovely thing that happened today was being picked up by "our Eric", and driven up to the church at Paul to watch the Mousehole Male Voice Choir doing their rehearsal. I sat behind my guests so that I could watch their reactions to the event. From the first chord of the first song, magic was woven and they were in it.

It's off to bed for us now, but we will be dreaming about a hike along pastures green, tomorrow. The little town of Zennor is out there, and we are going to try for it. I believe part of the adventure will include a bus, sure to be entertaining, perhaps a cream tea (if one looks promising), and then the pleasant hike back to St Ives, and the sea. I can't wait to catch my first glimpse of it as it hovers there, waiting for us to come back.

See you along the way!
